Nice illustration :) Noone can do anything , the viper is there to protect him.
Isn't that a cobra, rather than a viper? Better to have one as a friend than an enemy!

The enemy here is the BILLS!
Talisman is the SNAKE (no cobra, no crait, no viper, no python!)
and.... this is just a cartoon with a simple idea.
